The Challenge
Redesigning a company with more than a century of history means finding the right balance between tradition and modernity. The new brand identity needed not only to make a strong visual impression, but also to function effectively across all applications—from digital channels to vehicles and printed materials.
Approach
We began by analysing the existing corporate design and identifying opportunities for improvement. In addition, we used a structured questionnaire to gather key information on the company’s values, objectives and challenges.
Based on these insights, we developed initial design concepts, which we presented and refined in close collaboration with the management and marketing teams. Continuous communication and regular feedback ensured that both strategic and visual requirements were taken into account effectively.
Following final approval, we created comprehensive brand guidelines that define all design principles and provide the foundation for consistent brand management. Building on this, we implemented a wide range of applications—from business stationery and business cards to perimeter advertising for a regional event in Jüterbog.
Vehicle branding was another key focus. We developed design concepts for different vehicle types—from management vehicles to vans and flatbed trucks—and ensured that the corporate design remains clearly recognisable in mobile applications as well.
Strategic Approach
The new corporate design is based on four key principles:
Technically clear – precise forms and functional design
Reliable – consistent, robust and designed for long-term use
Human – focused on team spirit, experience and genuine craftsmanship
Modern – reduced design and clear visual hierarchies
Result
The result is a holistic corporate design that clearly reflects the values and identity of August Frebe GmbH while also being fit for the future. The restrained, technically inspired colour palette creates strong brand recognition and works reliably across all media—whether digital, print or applied to vehicles and textiles.
The defined typography combines functionality with a distinctive visual accent, while the imagery focuses on authenticity: real work situations, real technology and unfiltered impressions from everyday working life.
The result is a brand world that builds trust, conveys expertise and makes the connection between tradition and modernity visible.
