Fewer manual steps at the travel agency
Going forward, booking information from TUI tours will be transferred directly into the mid-office system the respective travel agency already works with, where it is available for further processing. There is no longer any need to transfer data by hand or copy it over from another system. Crucially, the agencies do not have to change their workflows. They stay in their familiar environment, and the data comes to them.
This was precisely the aim of the joint project: to further automate TUI tours' sales processes and make connecting sales partners as seamless as possible.
One central architecture instead of five separate solutions
Each of the five systems comes with its own technical requirements and data structures, and that was the real challenge of the project. milzer therefore brings the integrations together in a central architecture, standardises the relevant data and forwards it to the respective target system. For TUI tours, this means a single connection point instead of five separate integration logics within its own infrastructure. Further technical requirements can be implemented on the same foundation rather than having to be set up from scratch each time.
The project thus reflects the role milzer defines for itself: the travel industry already has a wide range of established, high-performing systems. What is missing is rarely yet another system. What is needed is a reliable connection between the existing ones. This is exactly where milzer comes in as an integration partner.
"By integrating Midoco, ZIEL, myJACK, ARGUS and .BOSYS, we have jointly taken an important step," explains Michael Eberlei, Managing Director of milzer. "Our aim is to bring complex system landscapes in tourism together in a simple way and to take technical hurdles out of the day-to-day business of our customers and their sales partners."
Close coordination throughout the project
Thorsten Kühne was responsible for the project at TUI tours. According to those involved, the short lines of communication between the two teams were a key factor in its success.
"What mattered most to us was that our sales partners could integrate TUI tours directly into their existing processes," emphasises Thorsten Kühne. "Working with milzer was collaborative, pragmatic and solution-oriented throughout. This allowed us to implement the integrations in a structured way and create a solid technical foundation for our sales operations."
With the five integrations now in place, the groundwork has been laid to further automate data exchange between tour operator and sales partners and to noticeably streamline processes in travel agency sales.
