The Challenge: For many older people, a pet is far more than a companion. It provides structure, closeness, responsibility and enjoyment in everyday life. An upcoming move into a senior residence is therefore often accompanied by the distressing question of whether a dog, cat or other pet will be allowed to move with them—or whether they will have to be given up.
This presented a clear opportunity for the SCHÖNES LEBEN Group. Pets are not merely permitted in its residences; they are actively welcomed. However, this relevant differentiator had not previously been developed into a dedicated, search-engine-optimised topic.
The challenge was to create a page that met two requirements equally well. It needed to address the genuine search intent behind terms such as “assisted living with a dog”, “senior residence with pets” and “care home with animals”, while also providing reassurance and emotional security. After all, users are not simply looking for accommodation. They are searching for a new home where they can continue living together with their pet.
Our Approach: We began with an in-depth analysis of the target audience, search behaviour and competitive landscape. Our focus was on older people and their families for whom a potential separation from a pet represents a major emotional barrier when considering a suitable form of senior living. The keyword, search intent and SERP analysis revealed significant potential around topics such as “assisted living with a dog” and “senior residence with pets”. At the same time, the competing content available was fragmented and often failed to provide convincing or comprehensive answers.
Based on these findings, we developed a detailed SEO content brief featuring a clear page structure, heading hierarchy, metadata, a proposed search snippet and an extensive FAQ section. The tone of voice, form of address and wording were designed to communicate warmth, reassurance and appreciation while clearly conveying the central USP: at SCHÖNES LEBEN, pets are not treated as an exception. They are considered a natural part of a fulfilling life in later years.
We also incorporated trust-building content explaining the positive impact animals can have on wellbeing and quality of life. The final copywriting and implementation in Elementor were completed by the client based on our brief. We supported the handover, conducted a keyword cannibalisation check against existing content relating to animals and respite care, and reviewed the page before launch. Additional elements—including guidance on responsible dog ownership, a “Pet Lovers Welcome” quality seal and multiple consultation calls to action—further strengthened trust and conversion potential.
Results: The landing page went live in mid-August 2025 and has since delivered strong organic results:
- 2,614 clicks
- 32,275 impressions
- 8.1% click-through rate
- Average search position of 5
Across the measurement period of approximately ten months, this represents an average of around 260 clicks per month, with a continued upward trend. Visibility has grown consistently and is currently at its highest level since launch.

A key factor behind this development was the topic-cluster approach. Rather than focusing solely on a single, narrowly defined primary keyword, the page covers a broader range of topics relating to assisted living with dogs and other pets. These related searches generate the majority of the traffic and attract users who already have a specific informational or enquiry-driven intent.

The result is an SEO landing page that clearly positions a relevant USP, addresses emotional barriers and takes the needs of older people and their families seriously. Through a consistent content narrative, a comprehensive FAQ section and conversion-focused contact points, the message “Pets Welcome” becomes a tangible competitive advantage—driving greater visibility, increased trust and more qualified enquiries.
