More security for combined cruise trips
Many travel agencies combine cruises with individually assembled pre- and post-cruise programmes. These include flights, hotels, transfers or additional modules that can be booked through Worldia. If changes occur to the cruise, Worldia handles the organisation and – depending on the insured event – the resulting costs for necessary rebookings or replacement services.
The new cover applies, for example, when a cruise is cancelled or its itinerary changed, when the end of the trip shifts, or when flight delays mean that embarkation is missed. If a guest returns late from a shore excursion, Worldia likewise organises onward travel and covers any additional costs required, such as transport or accommodation.
"With our new cruise cancellation insurance, we are creating additional security for our sales partners and taking pressure off them when something goes wrong. Our teams take over the coordination of the services booked through Worldia, so that travel agencies and their customers quickly receive a suitable solution," says Lisa Gerbens, Deputy Managing Director of Worldia Germany.
Flexible combinations around the cruise
Cover requires that the outbound and return journey, along with at least one hotel night both before and after the cruise, are booked through Worldia. In addition, the full booking reference of the externally booked cruise must be recorded in the Worldia booking.
At the same time, Worldia is expanding its trip planning options: travel advisors will in future be able to enter various cruises – river cruises on the Rhine, for instance – as an empty leg in the system, making it even easier to combine individual pre- and post-cruise programmes with cruises booked elsewhere.
Masterclass for travel agencies
To familiarise sales partners with the new solution, Worldia will present the cruise cancellation insurance in a Masterclass on Wednesday 22 July at 11:00. Alongside the insurance product, travel advisors will also receive an overview of ready-made itinerary suggestions for pre- and post-cruise programmes.
